Fished the inshore tuna grounds yesterday morning in an area called the “Lobster Claw”. Beautiful ride out with the full moon and lines in at 5:00am. Upon arriving we started our search and came upon dolphins and whales feeding in the area with tuna underneath. After three hours of steady fishing, we boated five 50lb class yellowfin tuna and released a white marlin. Everyone was tired and we had enough fish to clean so decided to call it a day early and were heading home by 9:30am. Beautiful day on the water and a great way to end the holiday weekend.
Had a successful trip on Saturday to the Lindenkohl Canyon Despite the “sporty” conditions, we put together a nice catch of yellowfin and bluefin tuna. The down-east hull design of Benita J really holds up to tough sea conditions as its reputation proceeds.
