2025 Fishing Trips and Rates
Offshore Tuna Day Trip $4,200.00 16-18 hours - up to 6 passengers. This is our most popular trip, providing the crew a complete offshore experience. We depart early in the morning and return late in the afternoon on the same day. Booking this trip requires a two-day commitment. We will fish on the best day of the two at the captain’s discretion to ensure we get you out on the water. The fishing grounds range from Hudson Canyon to Wilmington Canyon, including every lump and ledge in between. We’ll target big-eye tuna, yellowfin tuna, longfin tuna, and bluefin tuna. Additionally, you can expect to catch white marlin, blue marlin, wahoo, and dolphin. We troll with ballyhoo and/or chunk with butterfish; all bait is included in this trip. Big Eye Special Canyon Overnighter $5,200.00 for 26-28 hours - up to 6 passengers. Depart around 10:00 AM and return the following day in the early afternoon. Booking this trip requires a three-day notice. We will fish the best two out of three days at the captain’s discretion. We’ll troll the canyon walls during sunset and sunrise when bigeye tuna are hunting. Most bigeye are caught just before dark or at first light when squid and other bait begin to move closer to the surface. Bigeye tuna are among the most sought-after game fish in the Northeast Canyons, and we’ll position ourselves directly over the feeding grounds. They often travel in “wolf packs,” causing chaos in the spread. The bite is unmistakable and unforgettable as the water erupts with explosive splashes. Depending on the season, we will chunk and/or set out lines for swordfish at night. On this trip, expect to catch bigeye tuna, yellowfin tuna, bluefin tuna, and longfin tuna. Giant Bluefin / Striped Bass Combo $2,400 Depart 5:00 AM - Return 3:00 PM 10 hours up to 6 passengers. This trip is only available in November and December. Get ready to reel in the fish of a lifetime! Over the past few falls, the migration of giant bluefin into our local waters has created an exciting new fishery. Prepare to hook a giant bluefin weighing between 150 and 700 lbs. We typically only need to travel 10 to 20 miles to reach the bluefin grounds. Once we land our trophy bluefin, we'll switch gears and head inshore and finish the day catching striped bass. It's the best of both fisheries in one fishing adventure! Striped Bass $1,300.00 Depart 7:00 AM - Return 2:00 PM - 7 hours up to 6 passengers. All striped bass charters leave from Holiday Harbor Marina in Waretown, NJ, Slip B1. These charters are available from November to early December, focusing on trophy striped bass out of Barnegat Inlet. We utilize different techniques to catch stripers. Feel free to bring your preferred rod and reel setup if you enjoy topwater plugging or jigging. Each trip can be tailored to meet your needs. Once the crew hits the legal keeper limit as per NJ regulations, the trip has officially ended, and we'll head back to the dock to clean our catch. Read more about this type of fishing here.
TIPPING THE MATE IS MANDATORY. The average tip for the mate is 20% to 25% of the charter fee. The mate spends hours preparing the boat before your trip and cleaning up afterward to ensure you have a rewarding experience. Sometimes, the fish don’t cooperate, so don’t base your tip on the size of your catch.
THERE IS NO ADDED FUEL SURCHARGE Benita J is a highly fuel-efficient vessel designed for long-range commercial fishing. This efficiency lets us offer fixed rates, allowing you to budget for your trip accordingly.
PAYMENTS A 50% deposit is required to secure the charter date. Accepted payment methods include cash, credit card, check, or Venmo. The balance is due before the boat departs from the dock.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Trips may be canceled for any reason with a minimum of 30 days' notice before the charter date, resulting in a full deposit refund. If you fail to provide 30 days' notice, the deposit will be forfeited. The captain has the sole discretion to cancel the charter due to inclement weather. The Captain may cancel charters at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to inclement weather, mechanical failure or malfunction, illness, or other factors that interfere with the safe operations of the vessel. If the Captain cancels the trip, every effort will be made to reschedule your trip. The deposit will be refunded if you can't reschedule the trip.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Book Early for Choice Dates. The cost of the trip includes all tackle, bait, and ice.
Alcoholic Beverages: Beer Only. Glass bottles, hard liquor, and wine are prohibited. If a party member becomes intoxicated, as determined by the Captain, the boat will return to the dock without any refund.
Food: Each person must provide their food and beverages. We would recommend that you bring prepared food. Have your sandwiches made before leaving the dock.
A coffee maker is available on board for your use.
Boating shoes or sneakers ONLY. Please, no black-soled shoes.
No firearms of any kind are permitted on board.
No illegal drugs are allowed on board (OFFENSES WILL BE REPORTED TO THE COAST GUARD).
All billfish and sharks will be released unless tournament fishing.
Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Don’t forget sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat.
